Reflections

Tone and color have a great effect on images. Different colors will provide a range of responses in the viewer. Colors such as red, orange and yellow are considered warm colors. Blue, green and violet are considered cool colors. 

I find color to have a more subconscious  effect on the viewer. They respond to color without knowing why necessarily. Color can influence other parts of a composition. Colors have visual weight for example red is very powerful. 

Color is not something I have consciously used that much other than something looking cool but I have a few times. I think I will have a better eye and appreciation of color’s effects after reading this.

I found the film about Gregory Crewdson fascinating . I am interested in how he does a series of photographs with a theme. His attention to detail is amazing. He creates these scenes that look so real and natural. The funny thing is there is almost nothing natural about it. I think doing that would be incredibly difficult. I suppose it helps to have a big budget. The series idea is something I would like to take into my own photography. It really helps and is fun to have a well defined subject.
